Waterloo Entrance Requirements

Because the University of Waterloo is a prestigious and world-renowned engineering school, there are certain entrance requirements that must be met in order to apply. Students must achieve a minimum final grade of 70% in the following courses:

• Advanced Functions

• Calculus and Vectors

• Chemistry

• Physics

Students must achieve a minimum final grade of 75% in the following course:

• English (ENG4U)

It is a good idea for students to attempt to far exceed the base requirements for their final grades. Generally, if a student achieves a final average of 85, he or she will have a 50% chance of being accepted, so it is crucial for a student to try to graduate high school with a final average above 90%.
